We are certainly lovers of live music here on the South Shore. There are many places around town that offer live music from local and out-of-town artists, some locations every day of the week, and some only on certain days of the week. Here are our top five picks for live music spots in South Lake Tahoe:
California Burger Co.
Pictured above, California Burger Co. is located on the corner of Village Parkway and Highway 50 as a part of the Shops at Heavenly Village. Offering live music year round daily, this corner is a popular spot for people to enjoy talented musicians from comfortable chairs, and around fire pits during the cooler weather. The music genres rage from blues, classic rock, folk, and country, a perfect accompaniment for enjoying a hearty juicy burger and frosty beverage!
The Beacon Bar & Grill
Famous for their lakefront outdoor seating and patio area during the summer months, the Beacon offers outdoor live music daily. With many different music genres like country, blues, classic rock, reggae, Latin, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The stage is located directly in the sand at the edge of the seating area, offering jammin’ tunes throughout the whole outside dining area of the Beacon, and even the adjacent beach. So come enjoy a famous Rum Runner, outdoor dining, lake and marina views, while listening to music right on the sand!
Base Camp Pizza
A part of the heart of the Shops at Heavenly Village, Base Camp Pizza is a popular year round destination for an après ski bite to eat, or a spot to bring family and friends during a day of shopping downtown. In addition to their famously delicious pizza pie combinations, extensive beer selection, and whimsical mountain decor, they offer live music outdoors, adjacent to their patio dining area. Their live music performances are offered year round for both patrons and passersby.
Arty the Party at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe
Featuring disco, dance, R&B, and soul music, Arty has been bringing the South Shore a lively and fun musical atmosphere for years. Starting at 9pm on Friday and Saturday nights near the California Bar in Harrah’s, there is a clearing in front of the stage for party goers to shake their groove thing, or the more laid back crowd can enjoy the show from the large lounge area just behind the dance floor. Popular with tourists and locals alike, Arty the Party is a free show, and he certainly gets the crowd moving!
Whiskey Dick’s
On a bit more of the hardcore edge for the younger livelier crowd, Whiskey Dick’s offers year round shows featuring reggae, punk, DJ’s, heavy metal, 80’s, and much more. The stage and dance floor area is located at the end of their long rustic bar, which features an excellent selection of spirits and beers. Enjoy a game of pool or shuffleboard while listening to some of the eclectic music stylings the bar has to offer.
