Let’s face it, part of the fun of going on vacation and visiting a new area is trying out some of the local restaurants! As the South Shore is constantly changing and evolving, so is our restaurant scene. South Lake Tahoe is filled with numerous different types of restaurants and cuisines to satisfy everyone’s craving, preference, and budget, and more options keep popping up all over town. Here are some of our top picks of the new must-try eateries:
Ten Crows
Pictured above, this Southern barbecue joint has already made a name for itself in South Lake Tahoe. Located in the heart of the downtown action, enjoy slow smoked eats, full bar with specialty cocktails and rotating draft beers, live music, a rustic and comfortable decor, and outdoor dining year round.
Pick 6 Sports Lounge – Lake Tahoe
Centrally located in town, just a block from the lake, Pick 6 offers delicious house-made menu items, craft cocktails and a large beer selection. With an open, industrial feel, and large TV’s throughout (including a huge projection TV on the wall), you’ll be sure to enjoy your game from anywhere in the restaurant — even the outside deck which is open during the warmer months.
The Social House
Enjoy deli-style craft sandwiches on freshly baked breads in the hustle and bustle of the downtown Shops at Heavenly. Their menu includes iconic sandwiches like the Cubano, Banh Mi, and Reuben, as well as vegetarian options. The Social House also offers a full bar with specialty cocktails.
Poke Rok
Bringing the Hawaiian island favorite poke to the mainland, Poke Rok offers the option of choosing from items on the menu, or “build-your-own” choice. Choose from sushi burritos or poke bowls, and numerous delectable toppings! Located within a block to the casinos across from the Heavenly Gondola, they are now serving beer and wine.
Chicken in a Barrel
Another taste of the Hawaiian islands brought to the mainland is Chicken in a Barrel. Recently opened, they offer Hawaiian-style barbecue with slow-smoked chicken, ribs, and pulled pork, as well as Mexi’Que and burgers.
